Education and Training
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current, unencumbered State of Florida LPN Licensure
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a medical practice.
Working knowledge of:
- Medical equipment and clinical instruments
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Clinical Care & Patient Support: Ability to provide basic nursing care and recognize, document, and report changes in patient condition to the on-site practitioner.
- Medical Knowledge and Procedures: Basic understanding of anatomy, safe medication administration per healthcare provider instructions, and adhere to infection control, hygiene, and safety protocols.
- Assist the on-site practitioner with patient examinations and treatments.
- Gather, review, and organize patient documentation and prior medical records for evaluation by the on-site practitioner.
- Perform charting and clerical tasks, including processing prescription requests and coordinating refills with pharmacies.
- Triage patient phone calls to identify emergent and non-emergent situations and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Maintain efficient patient flow by coordinating rooming, procedures, and follow-up activities to ensure seamless patient care.
- Clean and disinfect exam rooms and equipment between patients in accordance with OSHA and infection control protocols.
- Provide patients with educational materials and guidance to support informed treatment decisions.
- Accurately document patient encounters, treatments, and communications in the EMR system.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and seek immediate assistance from senior clinical staff.
- Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and initiative in performing assigned duties and supporting clinic operations.
- Demonstrate receptiveness to feedback and a willingness to make adjustments to improve clinic workflow and patient experience.
