About the Role:
The PTA will help provide physical therapy services under a licensed physical therapist’s supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing customized treatment plans for patients under the guidance of a licensed physical therapist.
- Perform and document musculoskeletal examinations on prospective employees to ensure they are in good health to perform their job duties, including DOT, and basic occupational health exams
- Evaluate patients in tandem with staff physicians who have limitations or work restrictions and determine fitness for duty.
- Perform relevant employee testing, including urinalysis (drug testing), hearing (audiogram), vision (digital Titmus exam of acuity, peripheral, color, etc.) and TB screenings
- Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
- Evaluate patients for returning to work after injury or illness
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques for continued improvement.
- Collaborate with the physical therapy team to ensure effective patient care.
- Perform phlebotomy (training available)
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with accrediting guidelines and regulations.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.

- Strong Communication Skills: Patient interaction is a major part of this role, so you have solid verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues
- Comprehensive Knowledge: You understand medical and orthopedic terminology.
- Regulation Proficiency: You abide by HIPAA and OSHA standards.
- Experience: Previous experience in orthopedic or a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and orthopedics is beneficial.
Qualifications:
- PTA licensing in the state of FL.
- Willingness to be certified in DOT urine collections and Breath Alcohol Testing (we would provide training)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
