About the Role:
The PTA will help provide physical therapy services under a licensed physical therapist’s supervision.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in implementing customized treatment plans for patients under the guidance of a licensed physical therapist. 
  • Perform and document musculoskeletal examinations on prospective employees to ensure they are in good health to perform their job duties, including DOT, and basic occupational health exams
  • Evaluate patients in tandem with staff physicians who have limitations or work restrictions and determine fitness for duty.
  • Perform relevant employee testing, including urinalysis (drug testing), hearing (audiogram), vision (digital Titmus exam of acuity, peripheral, color, etc.) and TB screenings
  • Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
  • Evaluate patients for returning to work after injury or illness
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques for continued improvement.
  • Collaborate with the physical therapy team to ensure effective patient care.
  • Perform phlebotomy (training available)
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with accrediting guidelines and regulations.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Detail-Oriented: You have a keen eye for detail and can produce accurate records.
  • Integrity: You handle patient documentation responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Patient interaction is a major part of this role, so you have solid verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues
  • Comprehensive Knowledge: You understand medical and orthopedic terminology.
  • Regulation Proficiency: You abide by HIPAA and OSHA standards.
  • Experience: Previous experience in orthopedic or a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and orthopedics is beneficial.

Qualifications: 

  • PTA licensing in the state of FL.
  • Willingness to be certified in DOT urine collections and Breath Alcohol Testing (we would provide training)
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
