This is an outside sales position which may require extensive travel. The main responsibilities of the Sales Representative are to increase sales and retention of Workers’ Compensation Insurance coverage by cultivating relationships with existing Independent Agency partners and identifying new agency appointment prospects. Must consistently meet sales goals while maintaining the company culture and values. The position reports to the Vice President of Underwriting.
Responsibilities:
- Strengthen relationships between company and assigned independent agents through regular agency visitation.
- Develop annual new business premium goals and relationship strategy along with the underwriters in the territory.
- Develop action plan to manage and monitor agency sales goals on quarterly basis to drive results.
- Coordinate with underwriters for follow up on new business opportunities, quoted accounts, and renewals.
- Conduct face to face meetings with appointed agencies and brokers in the assigned territory as outlined in the annual goals. (Monthly, quarterly, or annual)
- Set up and coordinate onboarding meetings with new agency appointments and FFVA department representatives.
- Educate agents on our underwriting appetite, online rating portal TRUsolution, and competitive product offerings.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor products and market trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of sales, marketing, and/or underwriting experience in commercial insurance including workers’ compensation
- College degree, business equivalent and/or insurance designations
- Ability to work remote, overnight travel and self-motivated
- Problem solving and negotiation skills with proven track record for driving results
- Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship building skills
- Existing relationships with retail agencies and wholesale brokers preferred
- Highly skilled team player
