Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator of the Student Accessibility Services. - Boca Raton, FL.
The Coordinator of the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) reports to the SAS Associate Director and is responsible for ascertaining and providing for the special needs of FAU students with disabilities, particularly students with medical, psychological, physical, learning, hearing, and visual disabilities. This includes assessing needs in the academic setting, reviewing disability documentation (DSM-5 and ICD Codes), counseling students regarding disability-related issues and academics, and ensuring the provision of approved accommodations.

Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.
Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.
Strong communication, critical thinking and organizational skills.
Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Salary:
$45,000 per year.

Summary of responsibilities:
- Maintain a caseload of students. Review and interpret disability documentation.
- Meet with students and utilize an interactive process to determine and grant academic, housing, and ESA accommodations.
- Work with students to assist with academic concerns, professor/course-related issues, accountability, and organization.
- Maintain case notes for each student interaction.
- Prepare and provide presentations to students, faculty, and staff regarding disability issues, laws, and awareness.
- Take part in weekly Coordinator case review meetings and monthly staff meetings.
- Act as Student Accessibility Services liaison or representative on Student Affairs and FAU committees.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of SAS.
