Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator, Operations. - Boca Raton, FL.
The Coordinator of Operations provides administrative leadership and management of Student Union Operations, including the Information Desk, Building and Event Support Services, and Custodial Staff. This position maintains close working relationships with Student Affairs Technology, University Facilities, and Environmental Health & Safety. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility and coordinates building operations and logistics to ensure that all events flow cohesively within the Student Union. The Coordinator for Operations serves as the liaison for all operations to student organizations, departments, building tenants, and staff, coordinating operational and facility needs related to events and building requirements. Primary supervisor to the event operations student support staff, and is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, and effective evaluation. Works closely with the event planning team to ensure that all events comply with Student Union policies and procedures regarding space and facility usage.

Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.
Facilities Construction Experience Is Preferred.
Effective negotiation skills background.
Must have knowledge of contracts administration.
Salary:
$48,000 - $50,000 per year.

Summary of responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the Student Union facility
- Ensure facility compliance with departmental, facility and university policies as well as fire/life/occupational safety, security and risk management requirements
- Monitor daily operations ensuring safe, clean, and well-maintained facilities are provided to users
- Assist in the development of emergency preparedness plans and providing training to prepare occupants for emergency situations
- Maintain accurate facility and equipment inventory and administering a replacement program as budget permits
- Serve as operational liaison for all occupants of the Student Union including food services, retail operations and university departments/student organizations with offices in the facility
- Direct oversight and supervision of the custodial operations to include hiring, cleaning routine, scheduling and planning
- Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, schedules and evaluates operations student staff (Operations Managers, Set Crew, Guest Services)
- Directs the administration of room set ups (temporary stages, tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, etc.) of all event-related equipment
- Serves as an essential personnel and performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or other University emergency closings.
- Responsible for supervising custodial services and custodial staff
- Serve as the advisor to Night Owls, a Student Government Program
- Assist Night Owls student director with hiring and training employees
- Assist Night Owls with purchasing and maintaining golf carts
- Complete yearly employee evaluations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
