Florida Asphalt & Concrete is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in concrete finishing, with a deep understanding of working with different types of concrete and the finishing process.
Responsibilities:
- Setting forms that hold the concrete in place, ensuring they have the correct depth and pitch.
- Spreading, leveling, and smoothing concrete using come along, shovel, power trowel, power screed, and float.
- Monitoring the effects of weather conditions on the curing of the concrete.
- Safely operating equipment like power vibrator, power trowel, power screed, and drills.
- Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure surfaces.
- Waterproofing, damp-proofing and restoring concrete surfaces.
- Directing the casting of concrete with the truck driver.
- Rub concrete with abrasive stone to finish.
- Removing rough/defective spots from the concrete surface, using power grinder, chisel or hammer.
- Break up and repair old concrete surfaces, patch holes with fresh concrete.
- Participating in routine maintenance and clean-up of job sites.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a concrete finisher.
- Knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in concrete finishing.
- Physical strength and endurance, with the ability to work long hours, including overtime and weekends.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Ability to handle the physical labor required, including lifting heavy items and working in varying weather conditions.
