Position Summary
The Teen Program Leadership Initiative (TLI) Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of staff and programs serving youth ages 13 and older, with a focus on academic success, college and career readiness, life skills, leadership development, and mentoring. The ideal candidate is passionate about empowering youth from low-income and underserved communities and has experience building partnerships and tracking program outcomes to ensure measurable impact.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Recruit and engage youth ages 13 and older to participate in program activities and services.
  • Develop, implement, and manage educational, college readiness, trade school exploration, career development, leadership, and mentoring programs.
  • Manage and oversee a youth program serving more than 100 participants ages 13 and older, ensuring high-quality services, participant engagement and adherence, and achievement of program goals.
  • Establish and cultivate partnerships with schools, businesses, colleges, trade schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to expand opportunities for youth.
  • Coordinate workshops, field trips, volunteer activities, and special events that promote personal, academic, and professional growth.
  • Monitor participant progress and maintain accurate records to track outcomes and program performance.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain program data and prepare reports to ensure achievement of established goals and grant requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and utilize Microsoft Office and other tracking systems to track participant enrollment, attendance, outcomes, and program activities.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to teens and their families when appropriate.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
  • Collaborate with internal staff and community partners to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Participate in evening and weekend activities and events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with low-income, at-risk, or underserved youth ages 13 and older.
  • Experience developing and implementing youth education, college readiness, career exploration, trade school, leadership, or mentoring programs.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining community partnerships.
  • Experience collecting, managing, and reporting program data and outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create spreadsheets, maintain databases, and prepare reports.
  • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience recruiting and retaining youth participants.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for program activities and special events.
Preferred
  • Completion of 45h DCF certification.
  • Training or experience in Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities, particularly Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Portuguese.
Knowledge of youth development principles and community resources.
