The Library Associate – Systems Services assists with technical equipment, troubleshoots hardware and software, and responds to Help Desk calls.
Essential Functions
- Provides exceptional customer service to external and internal customers. Responds to and resolves patron questions or concerns.
- Provides first level of contact for daily Help Desk calls; conveys resolutions to staff.
- Troubleshoots hardware and software issues for all library locations; tests new equipment.
- Assists patrons with more advanced technology issues.
- Assists with audio and video equipment for events and meetings.
- Installs and configures software and updates.
- Sets up staff workstations and peripheral devices.
- Participates in the library’s ongoing training program.
- Primary backup for courier deliveries and materials processing in the absence of Mail Clerk/Courier.
- Assists in Circulation or other library departments as needed.
- Participates in Systems Services department on-call rotation.
- Bachelor’s Degree; 1-2 years of library or customer service experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge and skills.
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and office equipment.
- Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license.

- Frequently required to perform basic physical activities and communicate effectively to carry out essential job duties.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, carry, move and lift 10 lb. objects regularly.
- Correctable vision sufficient to read monitors, labels, and drive safely.
