Role Description
The Staff Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site role based at Florala Pharmacy in Florala, AL. The role involves accurately dispensing prescriptions, verifying medication orders, and providing clear counseling to patients on proper use, side effects, and interactions. The Staff Pharmacist will review patient medication profiles, collaborate with prescribers to resolve clinical or safety issues, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Daily responsibilities include supervising pharmacy support staff, maintaining inventory and controlled substance records, and upholding pharmacy policies and quality standards. The role also includes contributing to a welcoming environment, assisting with immunizations as permitted, and supporting community health initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Alabama (or eligibility to obtain), with Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree.
- Strong clinical knowledge of medications, dosing, interactions, and counseling techniques, with a commitment to patient safety.
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing systems, prescription processing, and accurate documentation, including controlled substance handling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide clear patient education and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work efficiently in a community pharmacy setting, including supervising staff, managing workflow, and handling peak-volume periods.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in pharmacy practice.
- CPR certification and immunization certification are preferred.
- Prior experience in retail or community pharmacy is beneficial but not required for highly motivated candidates with strong foundational skills.
