Pharmacy Technician

Duties

• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescriptions, including labeling medications with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
• Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment, expiration date checks, and proper storage practices.
• Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, updating medical records, and ensuring accurate documentation of medication histories.
• Administer medications under supervision, including IV infusions and other specialized therapies in compliance with hospital protocols.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of medical terminology and critical care practices to ensure accurate communication and documentation.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals in acute care settings to facilitate medication administration and optimize patient outcomes.

Skills

• Proven experience as a pharmacy technician with familiarity in retail pharmacy environments.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and pharmacy operations.
• Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care and communication.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to accurately perform intake procedures, verify prescriptions, and document medication details thoroughly.

Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
