What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Sales Associate position at Flora-Bama?
Job Summary:
The Retail Sales Associate plays a very important role at the Flora-Bama. In this position, it will be essential to greet and engage with all Flora-Bama guests, as you are the first and last impression of the business. Below are the fundamental areas that each Retail Sales Associate must perform on a daily basis to ensure positive retail operations.
- Inform customers about sales, promotions, and upcoming events
- Build guest relationships through excellent customer service and honest recommendations
- Effectively process transactions through Gift Shop POS system
- Effectively process transactions through the Florida Lottery system
- Stock and merchandise sales floor as directed
- Process incoming merchandise as directed
- Assist in maintaining organization and cleanliness in the stock room and on the sales floor
- Other related duties as directed by management
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Must have solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate with guests, peers, and management
- Ability to multitask, while being attentive to guests and remaining flexible to the needs of the business
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service
- Previous retail experience or similar experience on the sales floor is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
- Must be willing to work peak hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be capable of lifting 40 lbs
