Experienced Flooring Installer - Technician

The ideal candidate will have experience with commercial and residential flooring installations in multiple fields including carpet, sheet vinyl, carpet tile, luxury vinyl tile and VCT.

We are seeking a motivated, career-minded, reliable individual looking for a Flooring Installation position for a fast-growing company working primarily in the commercial flooring industry, with a fast-paced environment and a phenomenal team.

What does an Installer with Flooring Authority do?

· Performs commercial flooring installation, which include cutting, placing and seaming materials and maintaining safe working conditions

· Removal using National Flooring Equipment

· Surface preparation, waterproofing, and moisture mitigation

· Inspect and clean surface in preparation for material

· Correct defects such as a sub-floor that is unleveled or contains rotted wood

· Sweep, scrape, sand or chip dirt and irregularities from base surfaces, and fill cracks with putty, plaster, or cement grout to form smooth foundation

· Cut flooring materials

· Use adhesive to glue material to floor

· Install floor covering and ensure there are no cracks

· Clean up leftover adhesives

· Inspect finished product for flaws

· Replace any defective flooring material

Skills Desired of Team Member:

· Reliability and strong work ethic

· Excellent problem-solving skills

· Ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during installation

· Be on your feet or knees during installs

· Must be able to life 50 lbs

· Collaborate alongside Operations and Warehouse Manager

Education/Experience

· 3 years industry experience

· Be familiar with blueprints and work orders for the project

· Strong communication skills and ability to work well with customers and team members

· Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to flooring installation

· Ability to install flooring from start to finish

· Must be able to work individually and as a team player

· Valid Driver’s License

· Dependable transportation to and from the jobsite

This is a FULL-TIME, year-round position. 40 hours per week with overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.
