Requirements for ALL Installers
- Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment, 60#
- Working from a kneeling, crouching or bent over position frequently
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to follow installation instructions/prescribed method of install
- Strong work ethic (reliable with a positive attitude)
- Own basic tools
- Own transportation
- Good customer service/manners
Tile Installer – (ceramic and stone)
- Same as above
- Cut tiles and shape them properly to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces using both power and hand tools
- Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar utilizing tools such as screeds, brushes and trowels
- Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise
- Cut, install, polish and surface granite and marble and ensure accuracy during the installation process for lasting results
- Prepare various surfaces for tiling with waterproofing material or lath and by cleaning the surfaces properly
- Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and commercial areas
- Tap tiles into place carefully using tools to properly adhere tiles to the base, making sure not to break or damage tiles
- Follow blueprints/plans precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to go about jobs
Flooring Installer – (wood, laminate, vinyl, carpet, soft flooring)
- Unloading material, equipment, and supplies
- Sanding, cleaning, and tearing up existing floors
- Applying epoxy coating using trowels, hand grinders, rollers and paintbrushes
- Ability to perform a floating installation
- Operating handheld power tools and other equipment
- Cut and trim carpet and soft flooring along walls edges, openings, and projections
- Secure transitions/thresholds
- Sweeping, wiping down, and cleaning up jobsite at the end of each day
