Yard Supervisor

Pay Range

20.98 - $33.16

Purpose :

The Supervisor - Yard Operations, will provide leadership and supervision for all yard operational activities including the safe movement and storage of inbound and outbound trailers, accurate check-in of deliveries and check-out of shipments

Minimum Eligibility Requirements :

• Two to four years of relevant work experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred and experience leading a team of 10 or more direct reports
• Familiarity with yard mule operations preferred
• Proven track record of delivering results, managing processes, and continuous improvement
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules, strongly preferred
• Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Yard Management System experience preferred
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently, and / or within a team, across all levels and diverse cultures, and the ability to lead team projects
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Must pass pre-employment background check

PHYSICAL / SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Medium Work - Ability to exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. There will be occasional exposure to outdoor conditions which could include excessive heat, cold and / or humidity, slippery and uneven walking surfaces and working around machinery or heavy equipment.
