Duties
- Supervise daily activities within the aftercare program, ensuring all children are engaged in enriching educational, recreational, and creative activities
- Lead a team of childcare providers, teachers, and support staff by providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
- Implement classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior and respectful interactions among children
- Maintain a safe environment by enforcing health and safety protocols, conducting regular safety checks, and managing emergency procedures such as first aid when necessary
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external specialists to support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education or behavioral support
- Organize extracurricular activities like sports coaching, theater arts, or tutoring sessions to foster well-rounded development
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, childcare standards, and organizational policies
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, camp counseling, or tutoring programs
- Strong background in classroom management and behavior management techniques
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Experience with special education needs and implementing inclusive activities
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in childcare or educational environments
- Familiarity with Christian counseling or faith-based youth programs is a plus
