Position Summary
The Delivery & Install Specialist is responsible for providing a premium white-glove end-of-mile customer experience by safely delivering, placing, and performing basic installation/setup of printers, copiers, and related equipment at customer locations. This role operates Sprinter vans and box trucks (medium- and heavy-duty) up to 26,000 lbs GVW/GVWR, ensuring product protection, property protection, and accurate completion of delivery/installation documentation. Success in this position requires strong customer service, attention to detail, safe driving practices, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This role may require you to travel out of state for special projects. The pay range for this role is $23-$25.00 DOE
The Delivery & Install Specialist provides premium white-glove end‑of‑mile service by safely transporting, placing, and performing basic setup of printers, copiers, and related equipment at customer locations. The role requires safe operation of Sprinter vans and box trucks up to 26,000 lbs. GVW/GVWR, strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and consistent adherence to safety and documentation standards. The position works both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform end-of-mile (final-mile) white glove deliveries, including inside delivery, room/area-of-choice placement, and basic equipment setup per the scope of service.
- Safely operate company vehicles (Sprinter vans and box trucks up to 26,000 lbs GVW/GVWR) in compliance with all traffic laws and company safety standards.
- Complete required pre-trip/post-trip inspections, report defects promptly, and maintain vehicle cleanliness and readiness.
- Load, secure, blanket-wrap/protect, and transport equipment (using dollies, liftgates, ramps, pallet jacks, Escaleras, etc.) to prevent damage.
- Protect customer property while on-site (floors, walls, doorways, elevators, and furniture) by using corner guards, floor runners, blankets, and safe maneuvering techniques to prevent damage.
- Communicate professionally with customers and schedule regarding arrival windows, site readiness, access constraints, and special handling instructions.
- Provide on-site white glove service by positioning equipment, removing packaging, leveling/anchoring (as required), installing accessories, and performing basic power-on/print/scan tests in accordance with established guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with remote support teams to ensure accurate and efficient installations.
- Maintain accurate documentation (proof of delivery/installation, condition notes, serial numbers, and required paperwork); process returns/pickups as assigned, including hard drive removal when required and authorized.
- Participate in required safety meetings and follow all safety protocols.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- An Illinois Class C Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- 2 years of experience in delivery, installation, moving, warehouse operations, or customer-facing field services (or equivalent combination)
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older and hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license, with the ability to maintain a driving record that meets ongoing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (ME Certificate/DOT medical card)
- Ability to adhere to safety protocols and company procedures, ensuring careful and proper handling of all equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, site contacts, and internal teams while representing the company with a white-glove service mindset.
- Strong attention to detail (including accurate serial numbers tracking, condition notes, placement instructions, and completion of all required documentation
- Proficiency with computers/tablets (MS Office and/or mobile route apps) to complete documentation, take/upload photos, and obtain customer sign-off
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with white‑glove final‑mile delivery or installation (office equipment, appliances, furniture, etc.)
- Experience using liftgates, ramps, dollies, pallet jacks, or similar equipment
- Basic networking/IT familiarity (IP settings, connectivity checks, coordination with remote support)
- Experience operating box trucks up to 26,000 lbs GVW/GVWR
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The physical requirements for performing the essential functions of this position require the employee to be able to:
- Ability to drive
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
- Lifting items up to 50lbs, sometimes with assistance or equipment
- Moving heavy electronics with wheels weighing up to 300lbs
- Operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment (certification preferred or provided)
- Working near packaging materials, shrink-wrap machines, and occasionally exposed to toner dust
- Read a computer screen and written material.
- Write, type, and use a smartphone system.
Work Environment
Warehouse workers operate in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment within a climate-controlled warehouse or distribution center. The role involves handling and moving printer and copier equipment, parts, and supplies, ranging from small toner cartridges to large multifunction machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel to client sites may be required from time to time.
