Overview
Our client, a publicly traded Oil & Gas company, is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their SEC Reporting team on an urgent basis. Due to a recent team departure and the approaching year-end 10-K reporting cycle, this role is critical to ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant external financial reporting.
The SEC Reporting group is a lean team, and this hire will immediately step in to support the increased workload associated with the 10-K crunch, making this an ideal opportunity for a hands-on, seasoned analyst who thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Immediately support the preparation, review, and filing of SEC reports, including Form 10-K, 10-Q, and related disclosures
- Play a key role during the year-end close and 10-K reporting cycle, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Prepare, review, and tie out financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules to the general ledger and source data
- Compile and validate financial documentation used in external reporting and audit support
- Utilize Active Disclosure (Donnelley Financial Solutions) or comparable SEC reporting software to draft and manage filings
- Partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, and external auditors to resolve issues quickly and accurately
- Maintain detailed documentation to support SEC filings and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of experience in SEC reporting, financial analysis, or technical accounting within a public company environment
- Hands-on experience with 10-K and 10-Q preparation is required
- Prior experience using SEC reporting software (Active Disclosure strongly preferred; others acceptable)
- Strong technical skills with the ability to quickly step in and contribute with minimal ramp-up time
- Advanced Excel skills
- ERP experience preferred; Oracle experience a plus but not required
