Job Description: Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Human Resources, the Human Resources Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing payroll, HRIS administration, reporting, and compensation programs. This role blends hands-on, day-to-day execution with strategic planning to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of HR services delivered to employees. HR Shared Services supports the business with varying service needs, requiring flexibility, strong judgment, and a service-oriented approach. This is a functional, individual contributor role that is highly hands-on in nature.
Responsibilities:
Payroll (UKG and Workday)
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations in a hands-on capacity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Partner with internal business stakeholders to ensure accurate and effective flow of payroll
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations in a hands-on capacity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and complianced HRIS data
- Collaborate with the outsourced payroll vendor to ensure accurate payroll data entry and issue resolution
- Perform second-level audits of payroll, benefits, and HRIS transactions to ensure data integrity and compliance
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll, tax, and system-related inquiries and discrepancies
- Respond to, coordinate, and manage internal and external audits related to payroll, benefits, and HRIS processes
HRIS (UKG)
- Optimize the effective use of HR systems and data management practices to support operational efficiency and decision-making
- Ensure accurate, complete, and up-to-date employee data is maintained across all HR-related systems
- Implement and oversee HR data governance practices to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all HR systems
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboard and standard reporting to support leadership and business needs
- Serve as subject matter expert on HR reporting, analytics, and data interpretation
- Manage system integrations between HRIS, payroll, benefits, and related platforms to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Respond to and manage internal and external audits related to HR systems, data, and reporting
Compensation
- Partner with the Executive Vice President, Human Resources to plan and manage the annual compensation review process, ensuring consistency, equity, and alignment with organizational strategy
- Coordinate and respond to annual compensation surveys, including accurate job matching and interpretation of market data
- Conduct annual benchmarking of positions to assess competitiveness and inform compensation decisions
- Ensure salary ranges are regularly reviewed, updated, and aligned with market trends and internal equity
- Serve as a key resource for leadership and employees by responding to compensation-related questions and providing guidance on pay practices
Other
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging technology to streamline, standardize, and optimize HR processes and policies
- Collaborate closely with HR team members and cross-functional partners to ensure coordination, alignment, and consistent delivery of HR services
- Ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely execution of daily HR Shared Services operations
- Provide guidance and support related to immigration processes, working in partnership with external providers as needed
- Monitor and manage service-related billing and expenses to ensure accuracy and cost effectiveness
- Stay current on federal, state, and local laws and regulations impacting HR services and ensure ongoing compliance
Qualifications:
- 5 years of direct HR Operations experience, with a focus on HRIS, payroll, and compensation
- Demonstrated experience supporting payroll, HRIS, and compensation programs within a complex organization
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new systems and effectively troubleshoot issues
- Advanced Excel proficiency required
- Proven ability to manage and resolve complex inquiries with persistence and sound judgment
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a commitment to responsiveness and accuracy
- Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Experience with UKG (UltiPro) strongly preferred
