Product Designer / Tooling Engineer
Job Description (primary)
• Analyze product geometry (CAD) from ID/PD.
• Collaborate with PD to develop tooling and fixture design concepts.
• Collaborate with Test Engineer to develop testing fixture.
• Design and create tooling / fixture CAD.
• Release CAD to the vendor.
• Collaborate with the vendor through the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) process.
• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) upon receipt of the tooling.
• Oversee initial tooling setup, recommend modifications and improvements.
Job Description (secondary)
• Support the preparation of cut/print files for DE (sand, laser, 3D print, etc.).
• Step in to support hands-on fabrication during peak times.
Required Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in the design of tooling and molds (e.g., injection moulding).
• Strong 3D and 2D CAD skills (NX, SolidWorks or ProE/Creo preferred).
• Practical knowledge of manufacturing principles.
• Team-oriented individual who is willing to contribute beyond defined responsibilities
