The IT Manager will have proven success managing all technological support aspects of a mid-size, global manufacturing business, including ERP Implementation, LAN, engineering system support, and management of the help desk. The duties of the IT Manager will include driving business process changes within the ERP system and working with functional managers to ensure their systems support ongoing growth. The position will manage internal and external support groups to ensure world-class customer service, hire new employees, identify system opportunities, and monitor overall system activities and performance. This position requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of IT projects and software management. The ideal candidate will also possess a strong ability to work effectively across a diverse set of cultures, fostering collaboration and understanding in a global, multicultural environment. **This is an onsite role located in Bethlehem, PA. Local/Regional Candidates strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of global IT projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Manage the overall IT project portfolio, including prioritization, coordination of resources from both IT and business subject matter experts, and alignment of projects with business strategies.
- Analyze departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to inform business decisions
- Ensure network components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and competitor solutions
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and support of ERP systems. This includes collaboration with department heads to identify and address ERP-related needs.
- Manage ERP system upgrades, patches, and customizations and ensure data integrity and security.
- Lead and train a team of IT professionals in ERP application support and develop and enforce best practices and standards for ERP usage.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ERP-related issues promptly.
- Analyze ERP system performance and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers for ERP system enhancements.
- Prepare and manage the ERP budget and resource allocation
- Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement
- Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary, and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best-possible service and value for business needs
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact project or software and system delivery, developing contingency plans as needed.
- Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups
- Regularly assess the health of all IT software to ensure it is aligned with strategic priorities and capable of delivering expected business outcomes
- Develop and implement project management strategies, frameworks, and methodologies to support the successful execution of IT initiatives.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders, including executives, business leaders, and technical teams, to gather requirements, define project scope, set objectives, and manage software development and deployment.
- Work effectively across a diverse set of cultures, fostering collaboration and building strong relationships with global teams and stakeholders.
- Lead regular project reviews and adjust priorities, resources, or timelines based on changing business needs and project performance.
- Report on software development projects and deployment progress, performance metrics, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Lead post-implementation reviews and lessons learned sessions to continuously improve project management processes and methodologies.
- Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in IT project management and portfolio management, incorporating them into future initiatives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing global projects and managing project portfolios.
- Proven experience in managing ERP systems and IT projects.
- Strong understanding of ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.
- Deep knowledge of programming languages and operating systems (ex: Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and systems performance monitoring
- Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions
- Strong creative and analytical thinking
