What a typical day looks like:
- Perform advanced board-level failure repair for advanced PCBA assembly level.
- Repair debugged assemblies containing high value SMT placement components including memory (DDR4/DDR5), and power management components.
- Execute precision SMT placement components rework and component replacement using rework stations, X-ray inspection, and controlled thermal profiling.
- Perform root cause failure analysis related to repair rework and document corrective actions.
- Develop and validate custom repair fixtures and repair methodologies for complex server boards.
- Ensure strict compliance with ESD, and controlled handling requirements for high value components.
- Record detailed repair logs, failure modes, corrective actions, and yield data in tracking systems
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to drive continuous improvement and reduce repeat failures.
- Support process development for advanced repair capability expansion.
- 5 years of board-level repair experience on enterprise servers, storage, or networking hardware.
- Strong understanding of power architecture (VRMs, multiphase regulators, power sequencing).
- Experience with board level SMT and BGA rework, including large body and fine-pitch devices.
- Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and PCB layout files.
- Experience working with high-value components and low yield repair environments.
