Blade Repair Technician – Level C (Onshore Wind) US
📍 Location: United States (travel across project sites)
🕒 Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced structural blade repairs, including:
- Laminate reconstruction
- Core repairs
- Spar cap adjacent repairs
- Lightning strike damage repairs
- Structural leading-edge and trailing-edge repairs
- Inspect blades and assess repair requirements using visual and technical inspection methods.
- Interpret and apply repair manuals, engineering instructions, and quality requirements.
- Plan repair sequences, material preparation, and execution strategies for assigned repair scopes.
- Complete repair documentation, inspection reports, and quality records.
- Mentor and support Level B technicians during repair activities.
- Support rescue operations and emergency response procedures when required.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, project coordinators, and operations teams to ensure repairs are completed safely and efficiently.
- Minimum 1–3 years of hands-on wind turbine blade repair experience.
- Proven experience performing advanced composite and structural repairs.
- Strong knowledge of fiberglass layup, structural core repairs, epoxy systems, and curing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and repair procedures.
- Ability to work independently in high-complexity environments.
- Comfortable working at heights and inside confined blade spaces.
- Full travel availability across the United States.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass project-specific medical screening, background checks, and drug testing.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Experience working on Siemens Gamesa or Siemens SWT turbine platforms.
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience within blade repair teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical decision-making abilities.
- Experience using digital inspection and reporting systems.
