Blade Repair Technician – Level B (Onshore Wind) US
📍 Location: United States (travel across project sites)
🕒 Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of wind turbine blades and identify damage such as erosion, cracks, coating failures, and delamination.
- Carry out blade repair activities, including:
- Leading Edge Protection (LEP)
- Trailing edge repairs
- Surface filling and finishing
- Coating and painting applications
- Prepare composite surfaces through grinding, sanding, and finishing operations.
- Mix and apply epoxy systems in accordance with approved repair procedures.
- Complete inspection reports, repair records, and project documentation.
- Work safely at height and within confined blade environments.
- Follow project-specific safety procedures, GWO requirements, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and fellow technicians to deliver repairs safely and efficiently.
- Minimum 6 months of hands-on experience in composite repair, fiberglass work, painting, grinding, or related technical activities.
- Basic knowledge of composite materials, epoxy systems, and surface preparation methods.
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of handling tools and materials safely.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the United States.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Previous experience in the wind energy industry.
- Experience working on wind turbine blade repairs.
- Familiarity with Siemens Gamesa blade repair procedures and documentation.
- Technical or vocational education in composites, manufacturing, or renewable energy.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
