The Impact You’ll Make
Be the Face of Safety: Spend meaningful time on the production floor, building trust with the team and proactively identifying opportunities to eliminate workplace hazards.
Lead with Logic: Guide incident investigations using root-cause analysis to develop smart, sustainable corrective actions that protect our people.
Champion Culture: Implement and grow our Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) program and champion our employee-led Safety Committee, serving as their voice to upper management.
Navigate Compliance: Serve as the subject matter expert on OSHA regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM), and environmental compliance (including permit filing, waste disposal, and tank testing).
Manage Care & Recovery: Supervise the plant’s Workers’ Compensation and Return-to-Work programs, collaborating closely with our on-site nursing staff.
Drive Sustainability: Support corporate sustainability initiatives and environmental programs to reduce our ecological footprint.
Train & Empower: Design and deliver engaging safety and industrial hygiene training programs that stick.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering or Environmental Safety & Health field or equivalent experience
- Three years’ professional experience in manufacturing industry, with a focus on safety.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Knowledge of federal, state, local safety, health and medical rules and regulations.
- Familiar with Emergency Procedures in First Aid, CPR, Defibrillator.
- Knowledge of State workers’ compensation and State Disability, FMLA, ADA laws/rules.
- Must possess good organizational and administration skills.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) status recommended.
