What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laser Operator position at Flex-Staff?
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Laser Engraving Operator to run and maintain computerized laser systems used to engrave microscopic cell structures into ceramic-coated anilox rolls. This is a critical final step in the production process before products ship to customers. Safety, precision, and efficiency are top priorities.
Hours: Mon-Thur 4:15pm - 2:45am
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate laser engraving equipment
- Use dial indicators and precision tools to ensure alignment and quality
- Polish and inspect rolls to meet exact specifications
- Load/unload rolls using overhead crane or manually
- Maintain accurate computer input and job tracking
- Keep work area clean and follow all safety procedures
- Assist with engraving setups, inspections, and changeouts
- Report maintenance or quality issues promptly
- Work overtime as required
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong computer and math skills
Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators)
Ability to read blueprints and perform volumetric calculations (preferred)
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Safety-focused with strong attention to detail
