Our company is currently searching for someone to join our Production team as our Production Administrator who will work alongside our Production Manager and Plant Manager to provide support to our production and quality control activities. This position will work within a team of other production professionals and will be based in our Chicago. IL office. This role will require the selected candidate to be in our facility Monday through Friday day hours.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Production Reporting
- Review reported vs material cost to insure efficient material usage
- Completes all production reporting daily
Inventory management
- Conduct periodic cycle counts of raw material inventory
- Ensure accurate on-hand quantities for raw material in production. Raw materials include resin, sleeves, wraps, scrap, labels, etc.
- Ensures that all materials pulled and prepared for is moved as production when needed
Quality
- Complete quality checks on the production floor to ensure compliance with company standards
- Documents all resin Quality tests and submit all reports to the plant manager.
- Perform the following tests on resin when it is received:
- Melt Test
- Moisture Test
- Density Test
- Prepare a film Sample, if applicable
Other duties
- Maintain key KPI's such as safety, quality and production outputs
- Work directly with the scheduler to ensure efficient and timely scheduling and production jobs
Key Job Requirements:
- Experience as a plant administrator in a manufacturing plant
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Communicate regularly with Plant Manager regarding problems or issues impacting production, housekeeping, resin quality and other issues
- 5s & CI concepts understanding
- Knowledge and use of computers, applications, and manufacturing software
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to navigate and multitask competing priorities
