Starting Pay Rate: $20.75(after 3 months $21.50)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with mandatory overtime as needed
Reports To: Paint Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Paint Loader/Unloader to join our team. This role primarily responsible for loading parts onto racks for them to be painted, checking for imperfections, and unloading racks. The work requires both strength and dexterity, especially for tasks like loading and unloading heavy components, changing racks, and performing detailed work like grinding imperfections.
Responsibilities
- Loads unpainted brackets weighing 0.35 pounds – 8 pounds from baskets (48-inch depth) into wheeled carts, pushes them to racks and hangs onto racks to be painted. Requires bending and reaching down to bottom and back of the basket to obtain brackets from baskets. 108 brackets are loaded onto each rack.
- Loads bumper shells (up to 36 pounds) onto racks to be painted and off of racks once painting process is completed. Requires reaching up to 7 feet to hang parts on racks.
- Loads components into carts and pushes or pulls carts to next area. Push/ pull force is up to 42 pounds.
- Requires repetitive reaching, gripping, and handling of bumper components and bending. Parts range in weight from 0.35 pounds up to 36 pounds.
- May need to change racks during shift. Requires a 2-3 person lift as the heaviest racks weigh up to 312 pounds. Racks must be lifting off of pegs and then are drug over into staging area. Racks are changed out at a minimum of once per shift so excess paint can be burned off. 7 racks are changed each time a rack change is performed.
- Does detailing to work out metal imperfections in bumper by using hand grinder; working at table 38 inches high
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be able to see color vision, specifically the ability to perceive a wide range of colors accurately and distinguish minimal variations in color.
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Must be able to demonstrate understanding health and safety compliance training programs and departmental work instructions that are written in English
- Use of basic hand tools such as wrenches and pliers
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Lift and carry 5-gallon buckets (up to 58lbs) for mixing, from floor to 60 inches and up to 50 feet in distance, handling 6-10 buckets per shift
- Move 500-pound barrels using cart
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach above head and below shoulder level
- Ability to work in a non- climate-controlled environment
- Must pass annual pulmonary function testing and respirator physical for approval to use negative pressure masks and full-face respirators.
- The work environment is representative of conditions typical for a manufacturing facility. Guardian West is not a climate-controlled facility. Safety precautions must always be followed to reduce exposure to hazards
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and loud environments
- Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration
