Description of work:
A MIG Welder specializing in roll-off containers is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of roll-off dumpsters and steel waste containers. This position focuses on producing durable, high-quality containers used in construction, waste management, and industrial applications. This role requires proficiency in multiple welding methods and the safe operation of fabrication machinery to ensure durable and high-quality products. The Roll-off MIG Welder position is a full-time with mandatory overtime during the busy season. Welders use smart devices to monitor progress through maintenance tracking technology.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Weld parts needed to assemble optional components on roll-off containers.
- Fit and assemble frames, side panels, rails, hooks, and other structural elements for roll-off containers, maintaining alignment and structural integrity.
- Assists with the preparation of containers for welding, painting and delivery.
- Perform MIG welding on steel components to assemble and repair roll-off containers, ensuring strong, clean welds suitable for heavy-duty use.
- Complete welding repair of metal containers, repairs include replacing damaged walls, rusted floors or other broken or cracked metal structures when needed.
- Operate forklifts.
- Torch burning and plasma cutting.
- Inspect completed welds and structures for accuracy, quality, and structural integrity; adjust as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Welding Certification (preferred)
- AA degree in Welding Technology (preferred)
- AWS/CWI Certification (Preferred)
- MIG welding: 1 years experienced preferred
- Must have own welding hood, 2-4 lb. hammer, tape measure, wire cutters and screwdriver.
- MUST pass E-Verify
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- High school diploma needed.
- Ability to read tape measure
- Ability to read blueprint
