Semi Trailer Fabricator & Body Repair Technician
Fleet XL Inc. – Onalaska, WI
Fleet XL is seeking a motivated and experienced Semi Trailer Fabricator & Body Repair Technician to join our growing service team. This position is responsible for repairing, rebuilding, modifying, and fabricating semi-trailers and truck bodies while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural repairs on semi-trailers, truck bodies, and related equipment.
- Repair and replace damaged aluminum, steel, and composite trailer components.
- Fabricate trailer parts, brackets, panels, floors, and structural components.
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and metal fabrication work.
- Repair collision damage and complete body repairs on trailers and trucks.
- Install roll-up doors, landing gear, suspension components, lighting, and accessories.
- Read and interpret repair orders, blueprints, and fabrication drawings.
- Operate shop equipment including welders, plasma cutters, torches, and fabrication tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist other technicians and departments as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in trailer repair, body repair, welding, fabrication, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to weld steel and aluminum (MIG welding experience preferred).
- Knowledge of trailer construction, structural components, and repair procedures.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus but not required.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
