What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field & Shop Fleet Technician position at Fleet Solutions Truck repair?
Fleet Solutions Truck Repair is seeking an experienced Mobile Fleet Service Technician to join our growing team.
This is a hybrid position that combines mobile service and in-shop repairs. Some days you'll be driving one of our service trucks to customer locations for roadside breakdowns, emergency repairs, and scheduled fleet maintenance. Other days you'll be working in our shop performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on commercial vehicles.
No two days are the same, and we're looking for someone who enjoys variety, can work independently, and takes pride in quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Respond to roadside breakdowns and emergency service calls
- Perform scheduled on-site fleet maintenance
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform preventive maintenance services
- Complete brake, steering, suspension, and driveline repairs
- Assist with in-shop repairs and maintenance
- Complete repair orders and communicate professionally with customers
- Safely operate and maintain a company service truck
- Represent Fleet Solutions professionally while working at customer locations
Requirements
- 5 years of professional automotive, fleet, or diesel repair experience preferred
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with minimal supervision
- Experience performing preventive maintenance, brake repairs, steering and suspension repairs, and general mechanical repairs
- Comfortable working both in the shop and at customer locations
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate a company service truck
- Own basic hand tools required
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on commercial fleet vehicles, medium-duty trucks, and cargo vans
- DOT inspection certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
- ASE certifications are a plus, but not required
