Dayspring Restoration is a full-service Disaster Restoration Company and is seeking an Estimator to join our Great Falls, MT team.
Position Summary:
The Estimator in the restoration and reconstruction industry is responsible for assessing and preparing cost estimates for projects related to the restoration and rebuilding of properties damaged by water, fire, storms, or other disasters. The role involves reviewing property damage, developing detailed estimates for repairs or reconstruction, working with clients, insurance adjusters, subcontractors, and project managers, and ensuring that all estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with industry standards.
Specific Duties:
- Work with the Insurance industry to manage smooth claim handling, small to large, complex projects in the Property Restoration industry focusing on water, fire, wind, mold and storm damage.
- Estimators serve as client-facing leaders, overseeing the day-to-day project relationships with Insurance companies.
- Provide accurate and timely estimates and bids for clients.
- Ensure payment information to the customer is presented in a timely fashion.
- Update notes daily on every project you have running in our job management program.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager's initial project schedules and regularly maintain project schedules for submitting payment schedules.
- Keep track of all projects and bids that are under your guidance.
- Support Business Development activities (provide relevant input at a prospective client meeting, assist in project cost and schedule estimating, etc.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient knowledge of web-based software platforms.
- Utilize a smartphone or tablet to upload documentation of loss with photographs and written descriptions.
- Microsoft Excel and Outlook are required.
- Xactimate experience required.
Requirements:
- Valid Driving License and pass a MVR check
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
- Experience in the water and fire restoration industry is a plus but not required.
- IICRC Certifications Preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while reviewing plans, preparing estimates, and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
- Walking, standing, and moving around job sites, which may include uneven terrain, stairs, or scaffolding.
- Bending, kneeling, and crouching to inspect project sites, materials, or equipment.
- Lifting or carrying materials, documents, or equipment (typically under 25-50 lbs).
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, dust, and construction hazards when visiting job sites.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based, but with regular site visits to assess property damage and take measurements.
- Occasional travel may be required, depending on project locations.
- Exposure to construction environments, which may involve hazardous conditions (e.g., debris, mold, etc.) requiring proper safety precautions.
Salary: base salary plus commission
