About the role

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented, and people-focused HR Manager to lead and support our human resources operations. This role is responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering a positive, performance-driven workplace. The ideal candidate will bring experience in payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, and employee relations, and will serve as a trusted partner to both leadership and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line HR support to managers and employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage weekly payroll processing in coordination with our payroll provider, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Partner with General Managers and Department Managers to verify and correct time reporting.
  • Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, interviews, and hiring of qualified candidates.
  • Oversee onboarding for new hires, including documentation, payroll setup, and system access.
  • Ensure compliance with 401(k) contributions and coordinate with plan administrators.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and files.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and communicate updates clearly.
  • Support General Managers in managing workers’ compensation claims and documentation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR standard operating procedures and the employee handbook.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage the offboarding process, including final pay and exit documentation.
  • Support performance management and evaluation processes.
  • Partner with the Safety Committee to ensure compliance and proper recordkeeping.
  • Prepare HR metrics and reports for leadership.
  • Coordinate company-sponsored events and employee engagement activities.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

  • Keep payroll and HR administration accurate and on schedule every week without reminders.
  • Quickly learn our operations and stay close to the floor to understand people and processes.
  • Be proactive in identifying issues such as attendance, safety, and morale, and act before they become problems.
  • Strengthen communication across teams and ensure policies are clear, practical, and followed.
  • Balance compliance with common sense, offering solutions that support both people and performance.
  • Contribute to a positive, accountable culture where safety, respect, and results go hand in hand.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems; ADP experience strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of employment laws and compliance standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High level of professionalism, flexibility, and collaboration; comfortable working closely with senior leadership.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
