Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Heavy Equipment Shop Technician to join our team in Memphis. This position is responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of heavy-duty construction and industrial equipment in a shop environment. Ideal candidates will have a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on a variety of heavy equipment
- Complete routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake adjustments, fluid checks, and filter replacements
- Utilize diagnostic tools to identify equipment issues and implement repairs efficiently
- Inspect equipment thoroughly to ensure safe operating conditions
- Maintain service records, repair logs, and parts inventory using company software
- Adhere to company safety standards and OSHA regulations at all times
- Communicate repair status and recommendations to shop manager or service coordinator
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical school or ASE certification preferred)
- 1 year of experience working on heavy equipment (CAT, Komatsu, Deere, or similar)
- Proficiency in hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical troubleshooting
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
- Own basic hand tools (specialty tools provided or reimbursed)
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment

- OEM certifications
- Welding or fabrication experience
