Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly, including cash handling and credit card payments.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
- Maintain an organized checkout area by stocking supplies, merchandising products, and ensuring the cleanliness of the register station.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities while providing helpful product recommendations.
- Manage stock levels by assisting with inventory management, stocking shelves, and participating in periodic merchandise resets.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders over the phone.
- Support team members with supervising experience by helping train new staff on store procedures and customer service standards.
- Ensure compliance with store policies and safety procedures at all times.
Experience
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and transaction reconciliation.
- Experience in grocery stores or retail environments is advantageous for understanding store operations.
