Sample Shipping Coordinator:
FMI, a flavor, and essential oil manufacturer in Avenel NJ, is looking for a sample shipping coordinator to perform clerical shipping and other general administrative duties.
The position is based out of Avenel, NJ and has a typical work schedule Monday-Friday. The primary function of this position is to support the Projects Department by preparing outbound sample shipments in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities:
- Review daily project list with sample due dates to determine priorities and to organize daily work load
- Create required shipping documentation according to project requirements (both domestic, international and hand carry shipments)
- Print labels, commercial invoices and transmittals needed for delivery
- Pack samples with appropriate packaging to ensure package safety while in transit
- Bring packages out to warehouse/shipping area
- File shipping documents into project system
- Enter shipping cost data into Excel spreadsheet
- Track shipments, if required
- Follow up with internal departments to track samples, as needed
- Carry out tasks assigned by the Project Office Manager
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience using shipping software required by common shipping carriers (FedEx, DHL, etc.)
- Preferred current Dangerous Goods shipping certificate (49 CFR & IATA)
- Preferred working knowledge of Domestic and International shipping of Dangerous & Non-Dangerous Goods including country specific guidelines
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus
- Must be a team player with ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and follow-up on requests.
Salary: commensurate with experience
