What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Coordinator position at FLATROCK COMPRESSION, LLC?

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for the timely procurement of parts and services in support of field operations. As well as perform and oversee a variety of materials control related duties associated with the purchasing, receiving, stocking, and counting of parts inventory. This individual will work daily in our Electronic Inventory Control System (EICS) and coordinate regularly with vendors to ensure the timely receipt of goods and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create purchase orders in the EICS and code transaction in accordance with the company directive 
  • Coordinate deliveries and pick up orders from vendors, verify them against the purchase order, and resolve any discrepancies as needed. 
  • Identify back orders and checks in regularly with vendors for availability updates 
  • Acknowledge the receipt of goods or services on the purchase order in the EICS 
  • Deliver parts to stockrooms or make necessary accommodations with vendors to do so 
  • Maintain clean and organized stockrooms to ensure all items are in their place with a bin location clearly labeled and updated in the EICS 
  • Coordinate with Operations and Accounting to schedule, plan, and execute inventory counts 
  • Plan and execute inventory counts in accordance with the Physical Inventory Policy and ensure counts are entered, reconciled, and posted 
  • Monitor slow-moving or excessive inventory stock to transfer back to the main warehouse for redistribution or sale 
  • Conduct item/stockroom setups, transfers, and adjustments as needed 
  • Work with Operations Management to establish desired inventory stocking levels 
  • Establish and maintain a preferred vendor list for assigned territory 
  • Ensure vendor pricing and service meets the standard established by the vendor purchase agreement 
  • Maintain an organized and tidy workplace 
  • Maintain a cohesive relationship with all departments and individuals for the purpose of providing the highest quality service to our customers

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3 years of experience in a related field 
  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Familiarity with reciprocating compression equipment 
  • Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions 
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Software Suite 
  • Possess strong organization, communication, and time management skills 
  • Able to read and understand mechanical schematic diagrams 
  • Able to participate in a call rotation and accommodate the 24/7 nature of the oil and gas industry 
  • Able to remain task oriented and maintain composure while working under pressure in a fast-paced work environment
  • Maintaining an acceptable driving record.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

This role involves various physical activities, including standing, walking, sitting, and driving for extended periods. The position may require occasional bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting up to 20 pounds.

WORK CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT 

  • Regular Hours: Office Hours with a regular start time of  7:00 AM
  • Potential for overtime during demand periods, high priority tasks, or emergencies.
  • Weekend Work: May be occasionally required.
  • Exposure to diverse environmental conditions, including chemicals, noise, and confined spaces.
  • Safety Equipment: Use is required when appropriate.
  • Travel: Up to 80% of the time, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Non-Smoking: Both office and shop environments are smoke-free
