Role Description The Infant/Toddler Classroom Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in St. Louis, MO, responsible for leading the daily operations of an infant/toddler classroom. This role oversees classroom planning, including developmentally appropriate lesson plans, activities, and routines that support each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The individual will guide and mentor classroom staff, ensure a safe and engaging learning environment, and maintain compliance with licensing and center policies. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring child progress, documenting observations, communicating regularly with families, coordinating supportive services when needed, and collaborating with administrative staff to uphold the center’s educational standards and mission.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of infant and toddler development, early childhood education practices, and developmentally appropriate curricula.
  • Experience in classroom leadership, including mentoring educators, managing daily schedules, and coordinating care routines.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with children and families, communicate clearly, and maintain a nurturing, inclusive classroom climate.
  • Skills in observation and documentation of child progress, including maintaining accurate records and using data to inform teaching strategies.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with sensitivity to racially, culturally, and socio-economically diverse communities.
  • Understanding of licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices in early childhood program compliance.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., CDA) are a plus.
  • Previous experience working in an infant/toddler classroom or childcare setting strongly preferred.
