Accounting Specialist
At Flaherty & Collins, our accounting team plays an essential role in supporting the financial operations that keep our communities and projects running smoothly. We’re looking for an Accounting Specialist who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment where accuracy and accountability matter.
If you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and supporting critical accounting functions behind the scenes, this could be a great fit for you.
What You'll Do:

Support cash management and accounts payable functions for Corporate Management entities.

Prepare bi-weekly payroll journal entries and ACH collections.

Assist with month-end close activities and account reconciliations.

Prepare files for intercompany billings and monthly ACH processing.

Support corporate credit card administration and expense tracking.

Research and resolve accounting discrepancies or transaction questions as needed.

Track and report unclaimed property with various state agencies.

Participate in process improvement initiatives to help enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Provide backup support for team members when needed.

Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects and other departmental needs.
What Makes You a Great Fit:

2 years of accounting experience preferred.

An associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a team.

A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
