About the Role
FLAG is growing—and we’re looking for a proven Business Development Manager to lead our sales function, drive new client acquisition, and manage a team of Account Managers in the Southern California region.
This is not a delegator role. We're seeking a true sales hunter and team builder—someone who thrives in the field, is highly networked in the staffing industry, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and lead by example.
You will directly oversee and mentor our Account Managers, help strategize on growth initiatives, and most importantly, bring in new business in skilled trades, light industrial, and manufacturing verticals.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Business Development: Identify, pursue, and close new client partnerships within the Skilled Trades, Light Industrial, and Manufacturing sectors.
- Sales Leadership: Manage and coach a team of Account Managers, aligning their efforts to our sales strategy and client goals.
- Client Strategy & Growth: Develop strategic plans for market expansion and client penetration across LA, OC, and Inland Empire territories.
- Hands-On Selling: Actively prospect and engage clients via cold calling, referrals, networking, and site visits. You lead from the front.
- Client Solutions Partner: Craft tailored recruitment solutions that address pain points and deliver results.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, performance reviews, and service excellence.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the recruiting team to ensure requisitions are prioritized, quality candidates are delivered, and expectations are exceeded.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Analyze market trends, develop forecasts, and deliver performance reports to leadership.
Who You Are
- Staffing Expert: 5 years of success in staffing sales—must have experience in Skilled Trades, Light Industrial, or Manufacturing sectors.
- Proven Producer: You’ve consistently brought in new clients and exceeded sales targets.
- Team Builder: Experience managing and coaching Account Managers or sales reps in a staffing or recruiting environment.
- Local Market Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the LA, Orange County, and Inland Empire business landscape.
- Doer, Not Just a Director: You’re hands-on, self-motivated, and ready to hit the ground running.
- Strong Communicator: Comfortable presenting to executives, leading meetings, and representing FLAG with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and sourcing via LinkedIn, job boards, and social platforms.
