What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift position at FK Instrument Co., LLC?
Are you an experienced CNC machinist who enjoys leading others? FK Instrument is hiring a Lead CNC Machinist for our growing 2nd shift to oversee CNC machining operations and support a team of operators in producing high-quality parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of CNC machinists by delegating work and providing guidance
- Train and coach new hires on company policies, procedures, and machining practices
- Set up and operate CNC mill machines using setup sheets and written instructions
- Inspect parts to ensure conformance to specifications and make necessary machine adjustments
- Troubleshoot programming, machine operation, and manufacturing issues
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment
- Monitor labor entries and productivity
- Read and interpret blueprints, job packets, and work orders
- Organize tooling and materials during machine cycles to reduce setup and cycle time
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining quality
- Serve as a technical resource for machining operations
- Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and other departments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T
- 7 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis, and horizontal)
- Ability to edit and troubleshoot CNC machinery
- Preferred control experience: Fanuc
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
