Director, Residential New Construction Partnerships (HVAC & Plumbing)
Picture your week: You start by reviewing a high-velocity pipeline in your CRM, then step into a strategy huddle with executives to align on market expansion targets. By midweek, you’re onsite with a production home builder, shaping a proposal and pricing strategy for a multi-phase development. You wrap the week collaborating with estimating, operations, and project management to ensure a seamless handoff from awarded deal to kickoff—and you finish by refining forecasts and reporting on results.
What You’ll Lead
- Own and execute a market growth plan to expand our client’s footprint in residential new construction for plumbing and HVAC services.
- Prospect, qualify, and advance opportunities with home builders, residential developers, general contractors, and development firms.
- Build and manage a robust opportunity pipeline; drive proposals, pricing, and contract negotiations end to end.
- Consistently meet or exceed annual revenue and growth objectives established by executive leadership.
- Continuously track market trends, competitive movements, and emerging opportunities in the residential construction ecosystem.
Relationship Building That Endures
- Cultivate deep, trust-based relationships with builders, developers, architects, engineers, municipalities, and key industry influencers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and advisor for prospective residential construction clients.
- Expand wallet share with existing customers by identifying new scopes and partnership opportunities.
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with executive leadership on long-range growth goals and market-entry strategies.
- Evaluate new geographies, verticals, and strategic alliances that accelerate expansion.
- Deliver market intelligence and forecasts that inform capacity, hiring, and investment decisions.
- Recommend service enhancements and operational improvements based on customer and market feedback.
From Award to Execution
- Coordinate closely with estimating, operations, and project management to ensure smooth transitions from sales to delivery.
- Support proposal development, bid submissions, and persuasive client presentations.
- Stay engaged through project milestones to safeguard satisfaction and position for follow-on work.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Maintain accurate activity logs, opportunities, and forecasts within CRM systems.
- Produce clear, actionable reports on sales activities, market conditions, and growth initiatives.
- Monitor KPIs and adjust tactics to maximize win rates and margin.
Qualifications — Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, Real Estate Development, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 5–7 years in business development, sales, or development within the construction industry.
- Demonstrated success winning new work in residential construction or adjacent markets.
- Strong grasp of residential build processes, development cycles, and market dynamics.
- Proven relationship builder and skilled contract negotiator.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to design and execute strategic growth initiatives.
Qualifications — Preferred
- Established network among residential builders, developers, and construction professionals.
- Experience with custom and production home builders, multifamily developers, or residential GCs.
- Knowledge of local and regional residential construction markets.
- Fluency with CRM and business development tools.
