Location: Five Towns College, Dix Hills, New York

Founded in 1972, Five Towns College is a private, coeducational, non-sectarian institution of higher education. The College serves the cause of music, media, and the performing arts. Five Towns College offers associate, bachelor, master, and doctoral degree programs in eight major areas of study. The most popular degree programs include music, film/video, theatre arts, business management, and mass communication. Programs of study begin twice each year in the fall and spring following a traditional academic semester calendar. Summer, winter, evening, and part-time learning opportunities are also offered. The College delivers classes in traditional, hybrid and blended formats.

The College holds an Absolute Charter granted by the New York State Board of Regents, and its programs of study are registered with the New York State Education Department. Five Towns College is institutionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The College also holds programmatic accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST). Its Business Division is a candidate for accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), and its Court Reporting programs are approved by the National Court Reporters Association. Job Description: Five Towns College, a leader in higher education is seeking passionate, experienced, and innovative instructors to join our Theatre Department. The ideal candidate/s will bring a rich blend of practical industry experience in their respective field and academic insight to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for a diverse student body. Faculty are especially needed for teaching costume construction and costume design with the opportunity to design costumes for our mainstage shows.

Compensation: Adjunct/$3450 per 3- credit course

Key Responsibilities:

• Adjunct/teach up to 9 credits per semester.
• Develop and update course overviews, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
• Perform administrative tasks utilizing the college's learning management system (LMS) related to course management and submitting grades, using the student information system (SIS), and participating in departmental faculty meetings.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies in specific areas of expertise, integrating them into the curriculum.
• Participate in monthly faculty meetings

Qualifications:

• Master’s (MFA) degree in related area with equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 3 years' teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of both musical and straight play productions as well as current industry practices.
• Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to student success.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, dynamic academic environment.
• Expert in costume design, costume construction, and makeup.
• If possible, experience costuming Broadway, Off-Broadway, or equity productions.
