EHS MANAGER – HEAVY INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING

A leading heavy-industrial manufacturer is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to lead EHS strategy and programs for a large manufacturing operation in South Central Pennsylvania.
The EHS Manager will be a key member of the plant leadership team and will provide the direction, technical expertise and leadership necessary to strengthen the facility’s safety culture, maintain environmental compliance and reduce the frequency and severity of workplace incidents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead all environmental, health and safety programs for a heavy-industrial manufacturing facility
• Develop and execute proactive EHS strategies aligned with business objectives and federal, state and local requirements
• Advise plant leadership and employees regarding regulatory compliance, risk reduction and safe operating practices
• Lead EHS training and ensure employees understand their responsibilities for identifying and resolving potential hazards
• Maintain compliance with OSHA recordkeeping, workers’ compensation and other applicable requirements
• Oversee environmental permitting, reporting, documentation and agency submissions
• Represent the facility in interactions with local, state and federal regulatory agencies
• Maintain and continuously improve the facility’s environmental management systems
• Ensure ISO 14001 standards are effectively applied across all operations and shifts
• Establish corrective and preventive actions based on EHS data, trends, audits and incident investigations
• Support and develop the EHS team and provide oversight for additional plant-support functions
• Champion a culture of accountability, employee engagement and continuous improvement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• At least five years of leadership experience in environmental, health and/or safety
• EHS leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of federal, state and local EHS regulations
• Experience developing and implementing proactive safety and environmental programs
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence employees and leaders at all levels
• Ability to work 100% onsite in South Central Pennsylvania
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental health and safety or a related discipline
• At least three years of experience leading an EHS team in a heavy-industrial environment
• Experience with ISO 14001 environmental management systems
• Experience with environmental permits and regulatory agencies
• Background in metals, automotive, aerospace, foundry, chemical, building products or another complex industrial operation
