The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a boutique real estate law firm in Naperville, IL. The firm has a collegial, low-drama culture and a strong reputation for quality work. Billing is driven by quality, not volume. With a team of 7 attorneys, this is a firm where you’ll know everyone, your work will matter, and there is a real path to equity partnership for the right person.
This is a transactional role with broad exposure across real estate, land use, zoning, and corporate law. The firm is open to candidates at a range of experience levels, including those newer to practice - and places a high premium on personality, work ethic, and genuine interest in real estate law.
The annual billable hour expectation is approximately 1,600 hours/year. This is a guideline, not a hard requirement. The firm emphasizes quality billing over volume.
What You’ll Work On
- Draft real estate purchase and sale agreements, closing documents, leases, and contracts
- Set up corporate and LLC documents
- Land use and zoning matters
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, title companies, and county government employees
- Conduct legal research and analysis across real estate and corporate matters
- Maintain and manage multiple active files simultaneously
- Ongoing professional development in real estate, land use, zoning, and corporate law
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $125,000 – $175,000 (with flexibility)

What They’re Looking For
- Illinois bar license required
- Real estate law experience preferred, but the firm will consider motivated candidates newer to practice with a genuine interest in real estate
- Land use and zoning experience is a significant plus and can meaningfully increase compensation
- Strong drafting, research, and client communication skills
- Transactional background
- Great personality and a team-first attitude matter as much as credentials here
