Position Summary
The Mobile Golf Cart Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing golf carts at customer locations including golf courses, commercial accounts, municipalities, and residential customers. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, professional customer communication, and the ability to work independently while representing the company in the field.
This technician will work closely with the Parts Manager / Service Manager to ensure the correct parts are allocated, service jobs are scheduled properly, and customers receive timely and accurate updates.
Key Responsibilities
Mobile Service & Repairs
- Travel to customer locations from the Buzzards Bay, MA area to provide on-site service
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues efficiently and accurately
- Complete repairs including:
- Battery testing and replacement (lead-acid and lithium)
- Charger and charging system diagnostics
- Controller, motor, solenoid, wiring, and electrical troubleshooting
- Brakes, steering, suspension, and drivetrain repairs
- Installation of accessories (lights, enclosures, kits, upgrades)
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and seasonal service on fleet accounts
Scheduling & Parts Coordination
- Work directly with the Parts Manager / Service Manager to:
- Confirm correct parts are pulled, staged, and ready prior to service calls
- Communicate parts needs from the field to minimize downtime
- Support scheduling priorities to meet customer expectations and response times
- Provide updates on job status, follow-ups needed, and return visits
Customer Communication
- Provide professional and friendly on-site customer service
- Explain repair recommendations, timing, and next steps clearly
- Maintain strong relationships with golf courses and commercial accounts
- Represent the company with a “solve the problem” attitude at all times
Service Documentation
- Complete service repair notes and work orders accurately
- Track parts used and time spent per job
- Document warranty-related repairs and capture required details for submissions
Truck, Tools, and Inventory Management
- Maintain service truck appearance, safety, and organization
- Manage truck stock of common service parts and supplies
- Communicate inventory needs and restock requests to management
- Maintain and care for company tools and diagnostic equipment
Safety & Accountability
- Follow all safety standards and procedures
- Properly handle and dispose of batteries and materials safely
- Maintain safe driving habits and protect company equipment
Qualifications
Required
- 2 years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical repair (automotive, golf carts, equipment, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong customer communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical work (bending, kneeling, loading tools, etc.)
- Must provide own tools required to perform service and repairs
(company will provide service vehicle and standard shop/field support equipment as applicable)
Preferred
- Golf cart repair experience (EZGO, Club Car, Yamaha)
- Experience with lithium systems and electrical diagnostics
- Familiarity with service software or a DMS system (work orders, parts tracking, etc.)
- Trailer towing experience (preferred, if needed)
Work Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday–Friday (seasonal overtime may apply during peak months)
- Travel throughout the Cape Cod and Massachusetts
