Mortgage Processor/Closer - Grand Island
Primary responsibilities include compiling mortgage loan documentation and other general aspects of basic mortgage loan preparation for the Mortgage Department. Individual will work closely with loan officers to prepare loan packages for processing, underwriting, closing and funding. Individual will be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of loan documentation.
Essential Functions:
- Processing conventional, NIFA, Jumbo, FHA and VA real estate mortgages
- Reviewing signed up-front documents, flood determination, credit report, automated underwriting findings, title commitments, purchase agreements, and any other documentation received.
- Input loan application information on system
- Request verifications of employment, deposits, assets and other documentation
- Order appraisals, credit reports, flood determinations, title commitments and insurance information
- Submit loans to underwriters for validation
- Assemble and compile documents for loan closings, such as title abstracts, insurance forms, loan forms, and tax receipts
- Coordinate loan closing with borrower, title company and realtor.
- Work closely with title or escrow agent to balance closing numbers and closing figures for Closing Disclosure
- Review closing documents and organize closing packet. At times; present closing documents to borrower for execution.
- Upload loans onto system and disburse funds
- Process, close and remit loan file for funding.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Three to Five years of loan processing experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient with Encompass, LaserPro, Premier, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Effective communication skills
- Deep understanding to compliance and timing rules in the mortgage industry
- Time Management and prioritization skills
Education/Training: College - Associates or Bachelor’s degree required. Banking experience required.
Status/Standard Schedule: Hourly full-time position with varying hours Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
