Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Legal E-Billing Specialist to join our Billing Team in our Midtown Manhattan Office. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of legal e-billing experience, as well as a strong knowledge of e-billing platforms and the appeals process for each, and an understanding of Client Billing Guidelines. The position is hybrid, 3 days in-office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday), and 2 days working remotely (Monday and Friday).
Duties
- Coordinate setup of e-Billed clients, including initial client and matter setup, budgets, timekeepers and rate submissions.
- Prepare and review legal invoices to ensure they are in accordance with client agreements and billing guidelines prior to submitting.
- Submit e-bills from e-billing websites including Ascent, LegalTracker, TyMetrix, LegalX, and Collaborati, within the timing allowed by the client (monthly, quarterly, etc.).
- Identify, research, and troubleshoot rejected invoices for resolution and resubmit through the appeals process.
- Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies through effective communication.
- Manage accounts receivable processes, including tracking payments and following up on overdue accounts.
- Follow up with attorneys on any outstanding time or billing issues related to them.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of billing records as needed.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Maintain billing spreadsheets for each individual matter.
Qualifications
- 2 years' experience in legal billing, experience with ProLaw is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of e-Billing Platforms, such as Ascent, LegalTracker, TyMetrix, LegalX, and Collaborati.
- Advanced knowledge of LEDES format standards and UTBMS coding.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Experience with legal document management systems, iManage preferred.
- Strong analytical skills for account analysis and financial reporting.
- Excellent time management, follow up, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
