Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources is a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing human resources initiatives that align with the organization's overall business objectives. This role oversees all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, and organizational development. The Director serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and drives a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals and growth
- Lead and manage all HR functions, including talent acquisition, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and development, and retention
- Partner with all leaders to mitigate employee relations risk management in concert with legal counsel
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Manage the HRIS/HCM platform to ensure adherence and scalability
- Support mergers and acquisitions through HR Due diligence and post-close integration
- Partner with executive leadership to plan workforce needs, succession strategies and consistent hiring standards
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and equity
- Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and leadership development for corporate office and field operations
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to inform decision-making and improve organizational effectiveness
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree preferred)
- 7'10 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and organizational development
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Multi-site / multi-state experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution abilities
- Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence and partner with executive leadership
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR)
- Experience leading HR in a mid-to-large organization
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and data analytics tools, Workday a strong plus
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or organizational transformation initiatives
- Full time office-based
- May require occasional travel for business operations or leadership meetings
