Public Address (PA) Announcer

Fitchburg State Athletics is seeking a dynamic and engaging Public Address (PA) Announcer to be the voice of our events. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating an energetic and informative atmosphere for our audience through clear and professional announcements. This role is crucial in enhancing the spectator experience by providing timely information, promotions, and play-by-play commentary for a variety of events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary voice for all live events, delivering pre-game, in-game, and post-game announcements.
• Clearly and accurately read prepared scripts for starting lineups, special recognitions, and sponsorship messages.
• Provide engaging play-by-play commentary and announce game updates.
• Operate public address equipment, ensuring clear and consistent sound quality.
• Work closely with event staff and management to coordinate announcements and ensure a smooth flow of the event.
• Inform attendees about upcoming events, promotions, and facility information.
• Make emergency announcements as needed, providing clear and calm instructions to the public.
• Maintain a professional and enthusiastic demeanor at all times.

• Exceptional vocal talent with clear diction and pronunciation.
• The ability to remain calm and speak clearly under pressure.
• A strong understanding of the rules and terminology of the specific sport or event is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in operating audio equipment.
• The ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience with Public Address preferred, but not required.

This is a part-time, non-benefited, student only position. Schedule varies and the hourly rate is $15.00.
