POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Meet all expectations outlined in your current Position Description at the time you accepted and content covered in all training.
2. Serve in an on-call rotation with other Spring Break staff for the break period. During times when you are on call, you will carry a duty phone and you must be able to respond within 15 minutes of being called.
3. Respond to student concerns, lockouts, and inappropriate behavior.
4. Assist the professional staff with administrative duties and tasks (i.e. maintenance issues, functional assignments, closing/opening procedures, and facilities walk-throughs etc.).
5. Break Staff will participate in what is Primary Duty.
Primary Duty consist of:
- One Break student staff will always be on Primary Duty
- This is when a student staff is holding the duty phone
- The Break phone will be held 24/7 during break periods (however long the defined duration of the break)
- Average Break Primary Duty shifts are on a 1-day or 24-hour set basis split among Break student staff
- When on Primary Duty, you need to be able to respond to a call anywhere on campus within 15-minutes. Typical calls include lock outs, fire alarms, facilities issues, item retrieval with non-break resident (Winter & Spring breaks only and only when approved by RDOD)
- Conducting regular rounds of all campus residence halls during your primary days on duty.
Job Requirements:
At the time of the break period, you must currently be in a student staff live-in position (LRA, RA) for the Department of Housing & Residential Services.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time, non-benefited, student only position beginning Friday, March 6, 2026 @ 4pm and ending Sunday, March 15, 2026 @ 8pm. Total stipend per RA is $100.00.
